We called our product 'Prozone' because it is ozone-friendly. The term ozone-friendly is now applied to many different products to mean that they help to conserve ozone in the Earth's atmosphere. However, just take a look at the picture below which shows typical urban traffic smog, the unpleasant haze you tend to get on hot, sunny days when there is little or no wind.

This smog is basically ozone, created by the interaction of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx). This "ozone smog" is known to be a dangerous pollutant which can cause deterioration in lung tissue and can aggravate respiratory conditions such as asthma, bronchitis etc. Are you still an ozone-friendly person?

What we need to recognize is that ozone can be good or bad, depending on where it is located. The bad ozone is ground-level ozone as shown in the picture opposite. The good ozone is located between 10 and 30 miles above the Earth's surface in the stratosphere, and it is this stratospheric ozone or so-called ozone layer that we are trying to protect when we describe ourselves as ozone-friendly.
